Why I built Stage Lab
I'm Yuliia Rastvortseva, a mom who took her son through two brutally competitive industries at once — professional acting and competitive ballroom dance in the U.S.
Like many parents, I made mistakes. I trusted the wrong people. I spent money where I shouldn't have. I believed promises that never became results. Yuliia Rastvortseva · Founder, Stage Lab
Four steps that became a method
This part of the story matters more than any award: the turning point wasn't when the results came — it was when I stopped following everyone else's advice.
Mistakes, not wins
For a long time, Nicolas trained at acting schools, clubs, and dance studios where he worked hard — but wasn't truly growing.
The turning point
I stopped following everyone else's advice and started learning how the industry actually works: the system, the documents, the materials, the right way to submit.
Results without an agency
We found most of the projects ourselves. Not luck — understanding the system.
The discovery that became a method
The real discovery wasn't that he pursued two disciplines. It was what transferred between them — not the activities, but the skills. The resilience he built on the dance floor showed up on set. The presence he built in front of a camera showed up on the floor. Once you can see that it's a skill that transfers, you can see that a child's development can be designed.
